Google Chrome Gets New Casting Feature in –built in its menu

Google has introduced a new "Cast" option which is directly built-in Chrome browser and enables casting without chrome browser extension.
Google Chromecast has been known for streaming media directly to your screens, desktops, laptops once Google chromecast set up is done. Now you don’t require additional Chromecast browser extension as the Google cast comes in-built into your chrome browser according to the Next Web reports. The new “Cast” feature can be used for Hangouts too.

You can find this feature in the drop-down menu of chrome 51 that is currently in beta version you will see new “Cast” option. Now users will be able to cast Youtube, Netflix Hulu , music, sports and so on by just clicking the cast button.

You don’t have to worry about the quality of the content streaming or resolution of the media as Google chrome will control all these. The Cast feature will also become integrated with Chrome OS. If you have installed the extension earlier so there is no need to uninstall it. You can also mirror all the chrome media to Google Hangouts.

According to Mashable, Google Cast technology allows users to transmit content from their browser or smartphones to their screens. Once this feature gets integrated into the browser user can click on the tools menu and select “cast” and this will turn browser tab as Cast-enabled display.


In January this update was first seen in beta version of Chrome. However, now Google seems ready to make this feature available to everyone. Google on its support page explains that this feature will be incorporated in current version 51 and also 52 version that has not been released so far.

This new feature will also be beneficial for Google Hangouts users as they will be able to cast chrome tabs directly to conversations.

However, Google Hangouts app generally supports screen –sharing but when users want to share single tab then casting can be a good alternative further you can take chromecast help.
